How to Connect Goodshuffle Pro to a Custom Website

Goodshuffle Pro’s Website Integration puts your rental inventory on your website and turns a visitor’s wishlist into a quote in your account. On a custom site it can do the same from the server, with one gap to plan for: the wishlist carries contact details, dates and items, and nothing else.

What the Website Integration does

Goodshuffle describes the integration on its feature page. Inventory you manage in Goodshuffle Pro appears on your website, and “any update you make in Goodshuffle Pro automatically appears on your website,” so prices and new items are changed once. Visitors add pieces to a wishlist, and “the wishlist creates a quote in Goodshuffle Pro, but the quote doesn’t go to the client until you approve it.” Goodshuffle lists Squarespace, Webflow, WordPress and Wix among the platforms it works with, and its help center says the feature is available on all Goodshuffle Pro plans (help center).

On a site builder you install Goodshuffle’s plug-in or embed, and Goodshuffle’s own gallery and wishlist button appear on your pages. Its support covers that setup and color changes, but not custom CSS for unusual designs or building your pages (support scope).

Why a custom site connects differently

A custom site usually has its own catalog design, its own product pages for search, and its own list or quote builder. Dropping a third-party gallery onto it would mean two catalogs on one site. Instead, the site reads the same inventory data and sends the same wishlist from its server. The customer sees one design, and Goodshuffle still receives a quote it can price and send.

We did this for Linen & Oak Event Rentals. The rest of this guide is what we found, measured on her live account before a single real request was sent.

What the wishlist carries, and what it does not

We tested every field a rental request would want to include. The wishlist accepted contact details, an event start and end date, and items with quantities. Each item has to be a real item from your Goodshuffle inventory. Every other field we tried, including venue, guest count, event type and notes, was rejected.

Which parts of a rental request the Goodshuffle wishlist carries, and where the rest goes
Part of the requestIn the wishlist?Where we send it
Name, emailYes, requiredAlso in the email
PhoneYes, optionalAlso in the email
Event start and end dateYes, requiredAlso in the email
Items and quantitiesYes, only items that exist in your Goodshuffle inventoryEvery item, matched or not, in the email
Venue or cityNo fieldEmail only

Notes from the customerNo fieldEmail only

So the request travels in two channels at once. The wishlist is the structured part: it lands in Goodshuffle as a quote with the right items and dates. The email is the letter: it carries everything, including the venue, guest count, notes and any piece that is not in Goodshuffle. If the email fails, the customer is told; if the wishlist fails, the business still has the full request in its inbox.

The catalog problem: Goodshuffle items are flat

In the account we worked with, every size and finish was its own item. A flatware set was five items, a tablecloth in three sizes was three items, and the variant lived in the item’s name. A website usually wants one product page per set, with sizes and pieces as options. That means a map from each website variant to a Goodshuffle item.

Names drift. When we compared the old website catalog with the live Goodshuffle account, many pieces had been renamed, merged or added since the website was last updated. An automatic matcher handled the exact and near-exact names. The rest needed a person who knows the inventory. Ship with the matched pieces and route the unmatched ones through the email, rather than guessing.

Things your site should leave out

  • Stock quantities. The inventory data includes them. Linen & Oak did not want customers to see them, and a custom site can leave them out of pages and structured data.
  • Service line items. Delivery, will-call pickup, damage waivers and discounts are items in Goodshuffle but not rentable pieces. Keep them out of the catalog.
  • Prices you have not set. An item with no price should read as price on request, not $0.

A launch checklist

  1. Buy the Website Integration in Goodshuffle Pro and note your public website key.
  2. Pull the live inventory and match it to your website catalog; list what does not match.
  3. Decide what the site shows: prices, photos, groups. Leave stock and service items out.
  4. Build the request so the wishlist and the email go out together, and the server, not the browser, sets prices.
  5. Test the wishlist with deliberately incomplete requests first, so nothing reaches your sales dashboard by accident.
  6. Send one real test request, approve it in Goodshuffle, and check the quote matches what the customer chose.

Questions

Does Goodshuffle Pro work with Squarespace, Wix and WordPress?
Goodshuffle lists Squarespace, Webflow, WordPress and Wix among the platforms its Website Integration works with, and its help center has setup guides for them. A custom-coded site can use the same integration from the server.
Does a website wishlist send a quote to the customer automatically?
No. Goodshuffle says the wishlist creates a quote in Goodshuffle Pro but the quote does not go to the client until you approve it, and that the integration never sends a quote on your behalf.
Can the wishlist carry the venue, guest count or notes?
Not in our testing. The wishlist accepted contact details, event start and end dates, and items with quantities, and rejected every other field we tried. Send the rest of the request by email alongside the wishlist.
Will customers see my stock levels?
Only if your site shows them. Inventory data from Goodshuffle includes quantities, but a custom site decides what to render. On the Linen & Oak site quantities are never shown or put into structured data.
Do I have to rebuild my catalog inside Goodshuffle first?
No, but the two catalogs have to be matched. In the account we worked with, every size and finish was its own item, so a website that groups variants under one product needs a map from each website variant to a Goodshuffle item. Unmatched pieces can still be requested by email.
